Revolution Trains announce N Gauge Class 66 Batch 3 liveries

Revolution Trains have announced the liveries to be released in their third batch of N Gauge Class 66s, alongside additional tooling to be introduced to the model to allow more recent liveries to be accurately portrayed. The tooling updates includes plated over NRM pods and updated 2-aspect BMAC lights. Revolution's extensive tooling suite already allows original EWS, BMAC 3-part, 2-part or Bug-eye lights, original or low emission bodyshells, original or reinforced cab windows, low or high lashing loops, US and Canadian-built bodyshells, different bogie types both UK spec or imported European specifications to be offered.

Moving to liveries, making a second appearance is 66301 in the striking drax gold and blue livery. Released in very limited numbers in the first run of models, it now returns to give those who missed out a second chance!

Sticking with the Drax theme, 66050 'Yorkshire Rose' will join the line up in 'bulled up' gloss DB red livery, representing the locomotive as it was at it's naming ceremony in 2024.

Both 66301 and 66050 will fund another donation to Martin House Children’s Hospice, with Revolution having already donated £26,000 thanks to proceeds from the sale of the first run of 66301, the matching gold Drax IIA-D wagon and the exclusibe model of 66190 in DB red. Previously announced as limited editions from Rails of Sheffield and Locomotion Models, the two previoulsy announced Rail200 locomotives 66710 'Karen Harrison' and 66719 'Michael Portillo' will also arrive in the 3rd batch as part of the 'Railway Icons' range. There are very limited numbers of both left to pre-order from Rails and Locomotion, so don't miss your chance!

Joining these are two more limited editions exclusively available rom Rails of Sheffield, with 66501 'Spirit of 65' and 66601 sporting their commemorative Freightliner 60th anniversary liveries. Both these locomotives feature the new tooling with revised BMAC lights and plated over NRN roof pod.

Standard releases see two more Freightliner machines in the form of 66505 in Freightliner Green and featuring early BMAC lights and original low lashing loops.

66605 will be available in G&W orange livery with revised BMAC lights and plated over NRN roof pod.

66743 and 66746 will be available in the GBRf maroon of the Royal Scotsman. Although not limited to this exclusive train, these locomotives feature on regular freight traffic in addition to rail tour duties, and have been regularly used for the Fort William alumina trains, with the PCA tanks recently released by Revolution.

The final standard model will be 66044 in DB red with original BMAC lights.

Revolution has held the MSRP for the thrid batch at £254.95 for fully fitted DCC sound models, and £159.95 for DC silent versions. The models are in production now, with delivery expected in early 2027, and can be pre-ordered at retailers now.
