Revolution Trains N Gauge PTA/JTA/JUA/JSA EP samples arrive.

Revolution Trains have revealed the EP samples for their forthcoming N Gauge JSA steel coil carrier and PTA/JTA/JUA aggregate & iron ore tippler wagons.

JSA Steel Coil Carrier

Converted in 1996 from redundant tipplers for British Steel, the JSAs were used to transport steel coils from the mills to docks for export. Initally fitted with blue steel plate hoods, these were replaced with aluminium hoods during 2003/4 and continued in service until 2018 when the hood was removed completely.

The JSA is available to pre-order now in twin packs of each livery, with two options of running numbers available for each version. The early bird price of £69.95 currently applies.

PTA/JTA/JUA aggregate & iron ore tippler wagons

Built by British Steel subsidiary Redpath Dorman Long from 1972 onward, they were employed on some of the heaviest freight trains to run on BR rails transporting iron ore to Ravenscraig, Consett & Llanwern steel works. During the early 80s, many were purchased by Procor and used on the Mendip stone trains run by both Foster Yeoman and ARC from quarries in the Southwest to depots in London & the home counties. The wagons were finally withdrawn during the mid 2010s.

Revolution are offering five different livery versions spanning the service life of the wagons in five vehicle sets with each pack containing two outer wagons and three inner wagons. One pack of each livery option contains an outer wagon fitted with a working LED tail light.

As with all EP samples, these are used for checking the details ahead of prodcution commencing and the fit is not representative of the final models. The buffers of the JSA also took a bit of a beating in transit from the factory!
