The new Class 158 will feature the features found on all modern Farish models, including coreless motor, Next18 decoder socket, pre-fitted speaker for DCC sound and interior lighting. A low profile chassis design allows for an unobstructed saloon in both coaches, with seat and table detail clearly present in both coaches.

Working couplings are fitted at the outer ends to allow multiple working, whilst a conductive coupling between the coaches provides for all wheel pickup and means only one decoder is required for DCC users.
