N Gauge News took the opportunity to catch up with some of the projects currently underway at Revolution Trains during the International N Gauge Show.
CAF TPE MK.5A Coaching Stock
EP samples for the TPE MK.5A stock were on show and these promise to be some of the best RTR coaching stock seen in N Gauge to date. Designed in association with Accurascale, the coaches feature high levels of internal and external detail along with fine etched grills and separately fitted detail.
The complex cab shape of the Driving vehicle has been captured perfectly.
Early livery tests for the very complex TPE scheme were also on display. These were primarily for checking the accuracy of the colours, and Revolution say there are some adjustments to be made before the models are signed off for production.
CAF Caledonian Sleeper MK.5 Coaching Stock
Also on the stand were the EP samples for the Caledonian Sleeper MK.5 coaches. Livery samples for these have been completed but unfortunately didn't make it to the show in time, however Revolution Trains have released the following image of the samples in the factory.
The sleeper stock shares the same high levels of detail as the TPE version with much separately fitted detail in evidence along with some very nice interior details.
All versions of the Mk.5 stock can be ordered via the Revolution Trains website
Class 128 Parcel Unit
Shown below are the first EP samples for the Class 128 parcels unit. Revolution are offering 3 variations of the model in the initial run, however the tooling allows for several other variations.
A heavy cast chassis unit is combined with some very impressive under frame detail.

Six versions livery options for the Class 128 are now available to order here
DRAX IIA-D Biomass Hoppers
Revolution had paint test samples for the Rails of Sheffield exclusive IIA-D biomass hopper wagons on display.
The prototype wagons feature complex vinlyed liveries and the model samples show these have been captured exceptionally well using an innovative printing process. The large images on the renewable pioneers scheme are particularly impressively reproduced.
The images below show the first painted samples, which do not have any of the separately fitted detail parts.

MMA/JNA 'Ealnos' box wagon
Several versions of the forthcoming JNA/MMA EALNOS box wagons were on display. These are early paint samples and some adjustments have been made for the final production versions. The loads will also be textured on the release models.
The underframe detail on the models is particularly impressive, with multiple separately fitted parts.

MTV/ZKV Zander engineers Wagon
The first EP sample for the MTV/MKV Zander engineers wagons was also on display. Utilising the Class A tank wagon chassis, a new body has been tooled to allow Revolution to offer this useful model.
10 options are available to order here
PFA 4 Wheel Container Flat
The Revolution PFA, produced in association with Accurascale is about to enter production.
The order book for this model is now closed, however those who have pre-ordered should be extremely happy with the models when they are received given the high levels of detail evident on the EP samples.
IWA Sfins2 and Rfnoos wagons
Also on show were the paint samples for the IWA Sfins2 bogie van and Rfnoos timber carriers. The order book is now closed for these however they will be available from select retailers on release.
N Gauge News would like to extend our thanks to Ben and Mike at Revolution Trains for allowing us to photograph the samples shown above.
